Luiella Green Shetley
JONESVILLE - Luiella Green Shetley, 83, formerly of Alman Street Apts., died Sunday, May 20 in Magnolia Manor in Spartanburg after an extended illness.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Shetley was the widow of Woodrow "Fat" Shetley and the daughter of the late Rufus and Martha "Linnie" Gunter Green. She was a member of the Truth Baptist Church of Jonesville. Mrs. Shetley was first married to the late Paul Motte.
Surviving are three daughters: Martha Burns of Gaffney, Judy Davis of Buffalo and Helen Shetley of Jonesville; two step-daughters, Annie Ruth Robinson and Carol Shetley both of Buffalo; a sister, Ruby Burgess of Lockhart; three brothers, Carol Green, Donnie Green of Monarch and Henry Lee Green of Spartanburg; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shetley was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Bell Rowe and Elsie Mae Gault and three brothers, Henley Green, William Green and Clyde Green.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Dr. Kenneth Carter. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body will receive friends Monday night from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Judy Davis at 917 Flat Drive, Buffalo.
S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge.

Horace Lee Echoles
Horace Lee Echoles, 71 of 190 Sizemore Road died Saturday, May 19 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Palmetto, Georgia, Mr. Echoles was the husband of Marie McAbee Echoles and the son of the late Leroy and Katie Echoles.
He was of the Baptist faith and a retired construction worker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Roger, Benjamin, Willis Theodore and David Echoles and Jimmy McAbee, all of Gaffney; his daughters, Lisa Mullinax, Joann McAbbee of Gaffney and Dora Hamrick of Gaffney; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A half-brother, Charlie Echoles of Georgia and two half-sisters.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Nora Teal and Mary Long.
A graveside service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m on Tuesday with the Revs. Tommy Wright and Harold Dean Painter presiding. The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Gibson, James McAbee, Larry McAbee, Roy Lee Franklin, Wayne Lyles, Michael Carter, Bobby Parker and Randy Carter.
The family is at 190 Sizemore Road.

Keith Howie Byers
GREENSBORO - Keith Howie Byers, 48, of 4201 Falconridge Road, died Saturday, May 19 at 12:15 a.m.
Mr. Byers was the son of Willie Byers and Amogean Gregory Byers Donnell of Greensboro, N.C. and the nephew of Isaac and Marion Powell and Bobby and Elaine Gregory of Gaffney.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home on East Market Street in Greensboro, N.C.
