Mrs. Royce D. Phillips

Mrs. Royce Davis Phillips, 93, of 106 Brittany Rd., died Sunday, July 1, 2001, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of John Lewis Phillips and daughter of the late Claude and Sallie Poole Davis. She was a homemaker and member of Draytonville Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Jenny L. Ward of the home; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her son, Claude Thomas Phillips.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Todd Braswell. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times will be at the residence.
Pallbearers will be Jack Parker, John Parker, Eddie Parker, Eric Meadows, Van Parker and Justin Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.
