Winnie O. Webb
Former piano teacher
Winnie Ozelia Webb, 98, formerly of Floyd Baker Boulevard, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at White Oak Estates, Spartanburg.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the widow of Henry Hugh Webb and widow of Garland Hamrick. She was the daughter of the late Joseph McCraw and the late Regina Beason McCraw.
Mrs. Webb was a former piano teacher and a member of West End Baptist Church.
The family is at the home of Joe Conklin, 153 Club House Rd., Gaffney.
Arrangements are incomplete. Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home is in charge.

Alma L. Fowler
Homemaker
Alma Louise Mabry Fowler, 79, formerly of 555 Ellis Ferry Rd., died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, in Brookview HealthCare Center.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of James Wofford Fowler and daughter of the late James Mabry and the late Mae Hames Mabry. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Fowler and Ronnie Fowler, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Fowler, Chris Fowler, Steve Fowler, Ronnie Fowler Jr., Kelly Fowler, Mark Horton and Lynn Mabry.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends tonight from 7-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.

Lonnie A. Robinson
Vietnam veteran
Lonnie Allen Robinson, 55, of 319 West 3rd St., died Wednesday, Aug, 22, 2001, at 9:40 p.m. in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Union, he was the son of Florie Gist Robinson of Jonesville and the late Deacon Austell Robinson Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed by the City of Union in the sanitation department. He was a member of Woodson Chapel Baptist Church and Crawford Hill Community Club, both in Union. He was a 1965 graduate of Sims High School.
Also surviving are his wife, Annie Pearl Crosby Robinson of the home; four sons, Gary Littlejohn of Gaffney, Dwight Smith, Kendall Antonio Dillard Sr. and Christopher Jennings of Union; two daughters, Cathy Holmes of Columbia and Christina Jennings of Union; three brothers, Austell Robinson Jr., William Robinson Sr. and Wilson Robinson of Union; three sisters, Ruth Robinson and Queen Robinson of Union and Dorothy Gore of Hartford, Conn.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. and the Rev. M.C. Duncan officiating.
Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Cullen S. Gaffney
Services for Cullen Simpson Gaffney, 47, of 600 N. Limestone St., will be held today at 4 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home with the Revs. Lee Byers and Tony Macomson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Cowpens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brockman, Antoine Dover, Lee Dover, Clyde Goforth, Rickey Makupson and Dwight Wilkins.
Flower bearers will be Mr. Gaffney’s family and friends.
The family in Spartanburg is at the home of Earl and Naomi West, 3201 S. Church St. The family in Cowpens is at the home of his brother, Otis Michael Gaffney, 220 Bunche Circle.
Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Nellie P. Phillips
Retired LPN
Nellie Pennington Phillips, 75, formerly of Poplar Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, in All Saints Bishop Davies Nursing Home in Hurst, Tex.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Grover Pennington and the late Hattie Salmon Pennington. She was a retired LPN and a member of West End Baptist church.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Benefield of Fort Worth, Tex.; two grandchildren, Jeff and Daniel Cummings; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Putnam of Palm Dale, Calif., and Mildred Clifton of Charleston; three brothers, Gene Pennington of Gaffney, Bobby Pennington and Johnny Pennington, both of Charleston.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of Gene Pennington on Poplar Street and will receive friends tonight from 7-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
