Jalileh Said
Native of Jerusalem
Jalileh Said, 67, of 125 Drayton Trail, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jerusalem, she was a Palestian Christian and was the widow of Sama’an Said and daughter of the late Yacoub Khoury and Farha Khoury. She was a homemaker and attended Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Spartanburg.
Surviving are four sons, Constandi Said, Sami Said, Majed Said, all of Gaffney, and Nicola Said of Bowie, Md.; three sisters, Nasra Nasr of Hollywood, Fla., Jamileh Khoury of Jerusalem and Nadia Khoury of Riyad, Saudi Arabia; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Spartanburg. Burial will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg. The service will be conducted by the Very Rev. Costandi Nasr of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1896, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

Terry Arrowood
Electrician at Musgrove Mill
Terry Arrowood, 37, of 121 Brittany Rd., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at his home.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of James Arthur and Margie Blackwell Arrowood of the home. He was an electrician for Musgrove Mill and attended Central Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Jimmy Arrowood of Gaffney; a sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Patrick Shepherd of Shelby; maternal grandmother, Zillie Blackwell of Pacolet; and a nephew, Alan Shepherd.
Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Central Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Alan Peeler, John Goforth and Lewis Batchelor. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Lanier, Gene Phillips, Jack Littlejohn, Deannie Mullinax, Ricky Crane and Michael Baker.
The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 500 E. Montgomery St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; or to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Dr., Greer, S.C. 29650.
Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Cecil Davis
Blacksburg native
Cecil Davis, 76, of Washington, D.C., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in Washington.
Born in Blacksburg, he was a son of the late Joe Davis and the late Beadie Smith Davis. He was a member of St. Paul Temple Church in Washington and was a former member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
Mr. Davis was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Walker Davis of the home; five children; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Byers of Blacksburg.
Services will be held today in Washington.

William H. Brackett
Retired from New York City Transit Division
SPARTANBURG – William Harvey Brackett, 55, of 120 Over Brook Circle, husband of Ann-ette Robinson Brackett, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at 2:50 p.m. in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Son of Ben James Brackett of Spartanburg and Clara Wood Brackett of Gaffney, he was a native of Cherokee County and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired maintenance employee of New York City Transit Division.
Also surviving are three daughters, Stephie Brackett and Ursula Williams of Bronx, N.Y., and Louise F. Jackson of Rockaway, L.I.,N.Y.; step-daughters, Marcelinas Robinson of Spartanburg, Antion-ette F. Townsend and Debra F. Marshall of Brooklyn, N.Y., Roxanne Fletcher of New York City; three brother, James Emerson Brackett of Gaffney, Marion Tennyson Brackett of Brooklyn, N.Y., and George Oliver of Cowpens; three sisters, Vera Brunson of Jacksonville, Fla., Gloria Juilan of Lexington, N.C. and Virginia Marshall of Gaffney.
Services will be held Monday afternoon at Island Creek Baptist Church with Dr. A. L. Brackett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church Monday one hour prior to the service.
