Sara H. Savage
Retired nurse
Sara H. Savage, 92, formerly of Rt. 2, Spartanburg, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Peachtree Centre.
A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Inolah Cudd Hopper. She formerly worked as a nurse and a medical secretary in the office of Dr. Herman Koopman, Dr. Frank Champion and Dr. Robert Taylor. She was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Spartanburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Nola S. Lipscomb of Gaffney; two granddaughters, Mandy L. Connolly of Spartanburg and Suzanne L. Hammett of Boiling Springs; a grandson, Tony Lipscomb of Gaffney; two great-grandsons, Greyson Jones of Boiling Springs and Banks Connolly of Spartanburg; and a great-niece, Allisun Hendrick of North Myrtle Beach.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Revs. Scott Wachter and Neil M. Yongue. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church Building to Serve Fund, 1320 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29307; or Alzheimer’s Association, 555 Reidville Rd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29306.
The family is at the home of a granddaughter, Mandy Connolly, 4740 Clifton-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg.

Nancy Ann Hamrick
Cherokee County native
SHELBY – Nancy Ann Jones Hamrick, 51, of 1426 Chatfield Rd., Lot 3, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her home.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Charles Heyward “Chuck” Hamrick and daughter of Ellen Louise Mace Jones of Gaffney and the late Samuel Dick Jones.
Mrs. Hamrick was a homemaker, former textile employee and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, David Kim Fitch of Shelby; two daughters, Pamela Louise Hamrick of Boiling Springs, N.C., and Christy Ann Harris of Lawndale, N.C.; three brothers, Pee Wee Jones, Whitey Jones and Willie Jones, all of Gaffney; a sister, Betty Turney of Gaffney; and two grandchildren;
In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Hamrick was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Phillips, and a brother, Bud Jones.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with burial in Cleveland Memorial Park. Body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m.
The family is at the home of Pam and Michael Hamrick, 124 Hillcrest St, Boiling Springs, N.C., and will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

Ola Mae Posey
Services for Ola Mae Posey, 74, of 367 Nancy Creek Rd., will be held today at 3 p.m. at Mount Sinai Baptist Church with Dr. U.D. Vernon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body in the church at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Robert Littlejohn, J.W. Wilson, James Jefferies, Herman Wood, Ernest Baker and Roger Phillips. Honorary pallbearer will be J.C. Crosby.
Flower bearers will be members of the Vernon Choir and honorary flower bearers will be Frances Wilson and members of the Mt. Sinai Senior Choir.

Peggy M. Wilkins
Gaffney native
Peggy Morris Wilkins, 67, of 320 Hetty Hill St., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Jodean Wilkins and daughter of the late Preston Morris and the late Irene Fowler Morris. She was a housewife and member of Skull Shoals Baptist Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joanne Whelchel of Gaffney; a son, Russell Wilkins of Gaffney; a sister, Betty Burns of Jonesville; a brother, Robert Gibson of Pomaria; one granddaughter; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
The family is at the home of Russell Wilkins, 118 Wilkins Farm Rd.

Robert Durrah
Spartanburg Co. native
COWPENS – Robert Durrah, 68, of 172 McCluney Dr., widower of Kay Frances Tracy Durrah, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at 4:57 a.m. in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Son of the late John Henry Durrah and the late Fannie Boston Durrah, he was a native of Spartanburg County and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens.
Surviving are two sons, Victor Durrah of Spartanburg and Steven Durrah of Cowpens; three daughters, Robin Durrah of the home, Pamela Armstrong of Cowpens and Stephanie Kay Durrah of Spartanburg; 14 grandchildren; and four sisters, Louise Robinson of Baltimore, Md., Hazel Dawkins, Ethel McKurdy and Sarah Brockman of Cowpens.

Fritz H. Sarratt Jr.
Retired insurance agent
ROCK HILL – Fritz Howard Sarratt Jr., 79, of 1105 Christopher Circle, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at his home.
Husband of Edith Carper Sarratt, he was the son of the late Fritz Howard Sarratt Sr. and the late Cecil Huskey Sarratt. He was a retired agent for Life Insurance Company of Georgia, a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Also surviving are a daughter, Janet Tedstone of Simpsonville; two sons, Robert Frank Sarratt of Rock Hill and Lynn Ray Sarratt of Greenville; and six grandchildren.
The family is at the residence.
