Addie E. Driskill
Retired textile employee
Addie Elizabeth Driskill, 87, formerly of Beech Street, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Roland Henry Driskill and the late Minnie Bailey Driskill. She as a retired textile employee and a member of Draytonville Baptist Church.
Surviving are a nephew raised in the home, William Driskill of Gaffney; two sisters, Louise Leigh and Alice Stuard, both of Gaffney; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Revs. Robert Ivey and Todd Braswell.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of William Driskill, 2328 Wilkinsville Hwy.

Emma Sue Smart
York resident
YORK – Emma Sue Smart, 83, of 1251 Old York Rd. died Wednesday, April 17, 2002.
Born April 4, 1919, she was the widow of Ralph Smart and daughter of the late Boyce Sansing and the late Nannie Montitel.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Keeter of North Carolina; a son, Arnold Smart of El Paso, Texas; and a daughter, Linda Hamilton of Cherokee Falls; grandchildren, Robin Peace, Sissy Higgins, both of Gaffney, Nikki Waters, Tracy Cobb, both of Cherokee Falls, Shelia Mitchell, Dana Mobley, both of York, Johnny Mobley of Rock Hill, and Elizabeth Smart of El Paso, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ricky Peace, Kim Higgins, Brittney Higgins, Steven Higgins, all of Gaffney, Justin Waters of Cherokee Falls, Bradley Mitchell, Tyler Mobley, both of York, Susan Mobley of Texas, Catharine Mobley and Karen Mobley, both of Rock Hill.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Hwy. 321 North, York.

Bessie F. McCluney
Cherokee County native
Bessie Fair McCluney, 89, of Gaffney died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, in Peachtree Centre.
Widow of Andrew McCluney, she was born in Cherokee County, a daughter of the late Vernon Fair and Flossie Littlejohn Fair. She was a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Peeler of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Bessie Littlejohn, Elsie McCluney, Thomasene McCluney, Teresa Pearson, Bernard, Tracy, Cynthia and Jimmy Peeler; 15 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Suck Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Tony Macomson and A.J. Smith and Dr. J.W. Sanders. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30.
The family is at the home of Darlene Peeler, 2702 Cherokee Ave.

Robert A. Webber Sr.
Jonesville native; U.S. Navy veteran
PACOLET – Robert Andrew Webber Sr., 72, of 844 Asbury Rd., died Thursday, April 18, 2002, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Jonesville, he was the husband of Marie Alice Flamand Webber and son of the late Fountain Webber and the late Marie Fowler Webber. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Methodist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Raymond Webber and Robert Allen Webber, both of Gaffney; a stepson, Robert Andrew Webber Jr. of Massachusetts; two daughters, Donna Marie Webber of Gaffney and Eillen Marie Webber of Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are incomplete. Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home is in charge.
