D.B. Davidson
Retired from Limestone Manufacturing Company
D.B. Davidson, 91, of 613 Marion Ave., widower of Stella Mitchem Davidson, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at 9:07 p.m. in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Albert Davidson Sr. and the late Mary Jenkins Davidson. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Limestone Manufacturing Co., Summitt Plant.
Surviving are two sons, James Albert Davidson and Johnny Herbert Davidson of Gaffney; a daughter, Allene D. Graham of Gaffney; an adopted son, Vernon Davidson of Washington, D.C.; a grandson, James Cornelius Davidson, who was reared in the home as a son; and a brother, J.C. Davidson of Columbia; nine grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 46 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. and the Revs. F.J. Means and Lawrence Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be his grandsons and granddaughters, respectively.

Benjamin W. Wood
Services for Rev. Benjamin Walter Wood, 65, of Mountain Home, Tenn., widower of Louise Payne Wood, will be held today at noon at Birchette Mortuary, 219 E. Milliard St., Johnson City, Tenn. Burial will be in Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City.

Clara E. Painter
Active member of New Pleasant Church
CHESNEE – Clara Elizabeth Painter, 90, of 164 Cantrell Lane, died Friday, April 26, 2002, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Robert E. Painter and a daughter of the late Willie and Bessie Price Martin. She was a homemaker and member of New Pleasant Baptist Church for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School at the church for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Grace Painter Powell of Chesnee and Althea Painter of Mayo; four sons, William Harold Painter of Simpsonville, Robert Douglas Painter of Spartanburg, Cecil Dennis Painter of Chesnee and Marshall Ray Painter of the home; a sister, Ozell Gibson of Campobello; a brother, Alfred Martin of Gaffney; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Pleasant Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. George Holland. Burial was in State Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home of her son, Cecil Painter, 236 Woods Farm Rd.

Sam Hush
Retired from Hamrick Mills
Sam Hugh, 68, of 511 Littlejohn St., died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at 6:21 p.m. in Barnwell County Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was the son of the late Eli Hush and the late Magelene Pettyjohn Hush. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was last employed by Limestone College. He was a retired employee of Hamrick Mills.
Surviving are two sons, J.C. Hush of Gaffney and Thomas Hush of Hickory, N.C.; a brother, Fred Hush of Gaffney; five sisters, Lucille Crosby of Gaffney, Corene Hush, Florene Hopper, Pauline Linder and Janie Mae Family of Lawndale, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are incomplete. Foster Funeral Home is in charge.

Zachary R. Goode
Zachary Ryan Goode, five-month-old son of Eric Goode and Dorothy Willard of 218 Green River Rd., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at his home.
Surviving in addition to his parents are maternal grandfather, Ronnie Willard of Gaffney; paternal grandparents, Joe and Kathy Goode of Gaffney; maternal great-grandmother, Betty McSwain of Gaffney, paternal great-grandmother, Mary Goode of Liberty Hill, S.C.; paternal great-grandparents, Paul and Peggy Watson of Asheville, N.C.; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Charlotte Tracey of Gaffney.
Zachary was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Blake Goode; maternal grandmother, Pamela Hensley; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Gertrude Henson.
Graveside services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Terry Duvall.
The family is at 224 Green River Rd.

Carolyn C. Bonner
Retired nurse’s assistant
Carolyn Crockett Bonner, 76, of 4414 Wilkinson Blvd., Gastonia, N.C., died Wed-nesday, April 24, 2002, in Meadow Wood Nursing Center, Lowell, N.C.
Surviving are five nephews, Donald Crockett of Gastonia, James Wallace of Schortz, Tex., Forest Crockett of Columbia, Ralph Crockett of Hempstead, N.Y., and Daniel Gaffney; nieces, Teressa C. Jones, Shirley White of Blacksburg and Betty Lou Barnes of Frankford, Conn.
Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church with the Revs. Thelma Gordon, Willie Wood, Larry Davis and Bob Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Body in the church at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Arrangements by Foster Funeral Home is in charge.
Caldwell Davis
Services for Caldwell Davis, 74, of 119 Mirtis Lane, Mooresboro, N.C., will be today at 4 p.m. at Suck Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Tony Macomson, A.J. Smith, Carolyn Bratton and Alvin Brown and Evangelists Caroline Hone and Linda Hardin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today at 3 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and flower bearers will be his granddaughters.

Frances W. Allison
Homemaker
Frances Waters Allison, 57, of 104 E. Jefferies St., died Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Fred Waters and the late Novella Blackwell Waters. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are three sons, Carol Wayne Thomas, Dennis Paul Thomas, Bobby Eugene Allison, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Lorie Marie Allison of Gaffney; three sisters, Brenda Rutledge Keeney of Inman, Linda Kay Orr of Blacksburg and Vivian Annette Henry of Gaffney; four brothers, Paul Waters of Gaffney, Robert Eugene Waters of Lakeview, Calif., David Waters of Tycinga, Calif., and Charles Wilburn Waters of Gaffney; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Allison was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanch Porter.
Graveside services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Randy Caraway.
Pallbearers were Little Daniel Waters, Kenneth Mullinax, Darrell Henery, Eddie Henery, Terry Horn, Louie Mizell, Allen James and Roger James.
The family is at the home of Dennis Thomas, 148 Maddox Rd.
