Zachary R. Goode
Zachary Ryan Goode, five-month-old son of Eric Goode and Dorothy Willard of 218 Green River Rd., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at his home.
Surviving in addition to his parents are maternal grandfather, Ronnie Willard of Gaffney; paternal grandparents, Joe and Kathy Goode of Gaffney; maternal great-grandmother, Betty McSwain of Gaffney, paternal great-grandmother, Mary Goode of Liberty Hill, S.C.; paternal great-grandparents, Claude and Peggy Watson of Asheville, N.C.; and paternal great-great-great-grandmother, Charlotte Tracey of Gaffney.
Zachary was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Blake Goode; maternal grandmother, Pamela Hensley; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Gertrude Henson.
Graveside services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Terry Duvall.
The family is at 224 Green River Rd.

Paul E. Gaffney
Former Gaffney resident
Paul E. Gaffney, formerly of 309 Lakeshore Dr., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Margaret Gaffney and son of the late William Chatham Gaffney and the late Florence Hardin Gaffney. He was a retired service station owner and operator and was a member of Blacksburg First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two nieces, Janet Gaffney of Charlotte and Jean Johnson of Rome, Ga.; and a nephew, Buddy Gaffney of Fletcher, N.C.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg, conducted by the Rev. Dewitt Clyde.

Juanita S. Crocker
Retired secretary
Juanita Usry Spearman Crocker, 77, of 580 Crocker Rd., Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at her home.
Born in Gainesville, Fla., she was the wife of Joe Crocker and daughter of the late Lindsay Lee Usry and the late Eva Hendricks Usry. She was a retired secretary from Allstate Insurance and was a member of Hammett’s Grove Baptist Church.
Also surviving are three sons, Mike Spearman of Gaffney, Danny Spearman of Lynchburg, Va., and Steve Spearman of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Sue Scruggs of Cowpens; three stepsons, Claude Crocker of Spartanburg, Paul Crocker of Senora, Calif., and Woodrow Crocker of Chesnee; a stepdaughter, Joyce Brady of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Hammett’s Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike McGaha. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence, 580 Crocker Rd., Spartanburg, and also at the home of Mike Spearman, 128 Brittany Rd., Gaffney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hammett’s Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 651 Hammett Grove Rd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.

Emily H. Parris
Retired from Michelin
Emily Valerie Hill Parris, 66, of 216 Chandler Dr., died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Odis Parris and daughter of the late William Hill and the late Florence Hammett Hill. She was retired from Michelin and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Fowler of Gaffney; two sons, Steve Parris and Scott Parris, both of Gaffney; two brothers, Mack Hill of Gaffney and Scott Parris of Ohio; two sisters, Carey Strickland of Vidalia, Ga., and Nancy Williams of the home; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Michael Miller and Jimmy Powell.
Pallbearers will be Brian Parris, O.J. Parris, Troy Martin and Michael Boyd.
The family is at the residence where they will receive friends anytime.

D.B. Davidson
Services for D.B. Davidson, 91, of 613 Marion Ave., will be held today at 4 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. and the Revs. F.J. Means and Lawrence Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be his grandsons and granddaughters, respectively.

Sam Hush
Services for Sam Hush, 68, of 511 Littlejohn St., will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Bridges officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
