Mildred B. McCraw
Spartanburg native
Mildred B. McCraw, 77, of 215 Oakridge Rd., died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the wife of Cotesworth “Buddy” McCraw of the home and daughter of the late Russell Blackwood and the late Amelia Motts Blackwood. She was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church and was a housewife and a retired clerk from Employment Services.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Rhett C. McCraw Jr., M.D., of Greenville and John Mark McCraw, DDS, of Anderson; a sister, Betty (Bob) Rose of Marshal, Mo; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Roger Aycock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be James R. Cook III, David Cook, Lynn McCraw, Michael McCraw, Rhett McCraw and Fletcher McCraw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alton McCraw, James M. Mason, Leonard Hughey, Tom Pettit, Jack Morgan and Robert Earl Childers.
The family is at the residence, 215 Oakridge Rd.
Memorials may be made to Grassy Pond Baptist Church Family Life Center, 254 Grassy Pond Rd., Gaffney, S.C. 29341.

Ben E. Taylor Jr.
Former employee of First Sun Management Corp.
Ben E. “Benji” Taylor Jr., 24, of 1641 W. Rutledge Ave., died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at his residence.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of Ben Edwin Taylor and Barbara Allen Taylor, both of the home. He was a former computer programmer for First Sun Management Corp. and was a member of First Baptist Church in Clemson and Alpha Tau Omega at Clemson University.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister and brother-in-law, Beth Taylor and Robert Lackey of Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Martha Allen of Laurens; and paternal grandmother, Kathleen Taylor of Woodruff.
A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Clemson, conducted by Dr. Russ Dean, the Rev. Amy Jacks Dean and Dr. G. Todd Wilson. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jason Stockunas, T.J. Schwedler, Nick Noblett, Chad Perry and Ansley Greene.
The family is at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 407 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

Vernell B. White
Retired textile employee
Vernell Baker White, 93, of 207 River Dr., died Monday, June 24, 2002, in Peachtree Centre.
Mrs. White was the wife of June White and daughter of the late Ott Baker and the late Bertha Rippy Baker. She was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church and a retired textile employee.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a sister, Johnsie Stutts, of Ravenel and a brother, Lee Roy Baker, of Gaffney.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at East Gaffney Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. William R. Crews, Dr. Freda Crews and the Rev. Ron Jackson. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mother’s Class at East Gaffney Baptist Church.
The family is at the residence, 907 River Dr.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Thomas C. Norris
Thomas Charles (“T.C.”) Norris, 65, husband of Gongetter Littlejohn Norris of 113 Estelle Rd., died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Peachtree Centre.
