Tyson K. Girdner
Tyson Keshun Girdner, 27 months, of 318-14th Avenue, S.W., Hickory, N.C., died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at his home. He was born on July 14, 2000, in Cleveland County, N.C.
Surviving are his parents, April Morgan of Hickory and Keon Girdner of Gaffney; a brother, Jaylon Girdner of Boiling Springs, S.C.; a sister, Porche Tate of Gaffney; maternal grandparents, J.C. and Gardenia Wilson of Shelby and William Morgan of Hickory; paternal grandmother, Mona Girdner of Spartanburg; great-grandparents, Ruth Morgan of Hickory, Tony Wray of Gaffney and Tinnie Wray, also of Gaffney; great-great-grandmother, Lillie Watkins of Gaffney; and godparents, India Addison and Damion Robbs.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Shelby, conducted by the Rev. Marcellous Mack. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Eula S. Duncan
Retired textile employee
Eula Sentell Duncan, 81, of 408 Colonial Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at her home.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the wife of the Rev. William W. Duncan and daughter of the late John Sentell and the late Bertha Phillips Sentell. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Bobby Jene Duncan and Eddie Joe Duncan, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Louise Sentell Duncan and Lula Mae Moss, both of Gaffney; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Gay Duncan, and four brothers, John Pittman Sentell, James Sentell, Marshal Sentell and Damon Sentell.
Arrangements are incomplete. Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home is in charge.

Timothy A. Scruggs
Spartanburg County native
SPARTANBURG – Timothy Allen Scruggs, 33, of 282 Fairforest Rd., died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of Steve and Sheila Scruggs of Chesnee and Pat McAbee Scruggs Dalton of Inman. He was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brian Scruggs and Rick Scruggs of Spartanburg; a stepsister, Cynthia Hoffman of Mt. Holly, N.C.; and a stepbrother, Chris Hoffman of Wallace, N.C.
A memorial service was held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home, Chesnee, with the Revs. Bill Adams and Odell Mosley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Tim Scruggs to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 10794, Greenville, S.C., 29603; or to the Hepatitis Foundation International, 30 Sunrise Terrace, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009-1423.
The family is at the home of his father, 126 Kingston Ridge Dr., Chesnee.

Anthony “Tony” Williams
Construction worker
CHESNEE – Anthony “Tony” Eugene Williams, 24, of 263 Sand Clary Rd., died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in Newberry.
A native of Valdese, N.C., he was the husband of Sherry Williams and stepson and son of Ralph and Patsy McSwain Holcomb of Chesnee. He was a construction worker and of the Baptist faith.
Also surviving are a son, Anthony Eugene Williams Jr. of the home; two daughters, Britney Williams and Kayla Williams, both of the home; a sister, Misty McNabb of Gastonia, N.C.; a brother, Chad Holcomb of Gaffney; and maternal grandmother, Vernie McSwain of Kings Mountain, N.C.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Kirby Memorial Baptist Church in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Randy Funderburk. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Harris, Donnie Melton, George McNabb, Ray Johnson, Scott Clark and Robbie Simpson.
The family is at the home of Patsy Holcomb, 561 Sand Clay Rd., Chesnee.

Nettie J. McCraw
Homemaker
Nettie Jolley McCraw, 85, formerly of 416 Macedonia Rd., died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Valley Falls Terrace Nursing Home, Spartanburg.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Coyle L. McCraw and daughter of the late Johnny Jolley and the late Bessie Hicks Jolley. She was a homemaker and member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Annie Waddell of Moore, Jean Painter of Chester, Va., and Judy Davis of Gaffney; a son, Jerry McCraw of Sevierville, Tenn.; a sister, Margie Jolley McKinney of Greer; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Joyce Murphy.
Pallbearers were Jeff Davis, David Waddell, Brian Painter, Keith Waddell, Jerry McCraw and Jay McCraw.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Judy Davis, 818 Burnt Gin Rd.

William C. Ray
Owner of C&S Body Shop in Shelby
JONESVILLE – William Carl Ray, 60, of 2691 Mount Tabor Church Rd., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at his home.
Born in Dandridge, Tenn., he was the husband of Martha Wright Ray and son of the late Sam Ray and the late Rosa Brown Ray Bumgardner. He was owner and operator of C&S Body Shop in Shelby and was a member of Skull Shoals Baptist Church where he was assistant treasurer, assistant Sunday School teacher, assistant Training Union director and a member of the choir.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Sheila McKee of Anderson and Cindy Cooke of Murfreesboro, N.C.; two sons, Samuel Carl Ray of Kings Mountain and Dwight Cook of Shelby; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Skull Shoals Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Randy Phillips and Mr. Junior Mullinax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Horne, Dewey Petty, Sonny McSwain, Shane Bostic, Marty Lankford and George Crocker.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Skull Shoals Baptist Church and Ricky Beatty, Chad Greene, Chris Wright, J.R. Davis, Larkin Burgess and Joey Degunion.
Memorials may be made to Skull Shoals Baptist Church, 460 Skull Shoals Rd., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
The family is at the residence.
