James “Bub” Dover
Cherokee County native
BLACKSBURG – James “Bub” Edward Dover, 54, of 115 Wesley Dr., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at his home.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Herman Alfred and Lela Dover Rayfield and was a member of Kings Creek Church of God.
Surviving are four daughters, Crystal Martinez, Misty Carroll, both of Gastonia, N.C., Mandy Dover of Blacksburg and Tammy Lunsford of Clover; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce D. Moss of Blacksburg and Helen D. Painter of Grover.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dover was preceded in death by a brother, Earn Lee Dover, and a sister, Carolyn D. Wyatt.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Kings Creek Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Rayce Wolgemuth. Burial will be in Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8 p.m. at White Columns-Blacksburg and at other times they will be at the residence.

Mae R. McCraw
Retired from textiles
Mae Ruppe McCraw, 75, of 609 Ashworth School Rd., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Henry Morris McCraw and daughter of the late Admiral Dewey Ruppe and the late Flossie Thrift Ruppe. She was retired from textiles and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Henry McCraw of Gaffney; a daughter, Sarah Marcell lewis of Fallston, N.C.; a brother, Belton Ruppe of Gaffney; two sisters, Bonnie Hardin of Gaffney and Jeanette Hood of Fort Mill; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Frazier. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Poole, Don Ruppe, Jerry McCraw, Jeff Benfield, Keith Lewis and Randy Clark.
The family is at the home of Henry McCraw, 1112 S. petty St., Gaffney.
Memorials may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E. Wood St., Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

Danielle “Liz” Gorski
Established Gorski Cake
Fund for local D.A.V.
Danielle Elizabeth “Liz” Gordon Gorski, 82, of 1106 E. Frederick St., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Edward Joseph Gorski and daughter of the late Daniel Breeden and Ruby Gordon Bridges and stepdaughter of the late Jule Bridges. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist church.
Mrs. Gorski established the Gorski Cake Fund for the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans Christmas Cakes and received local, state and national recognition for her work with the D.A.V.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Edward Gorski of Blacksburg, Daniel Louis Gorski of Gaffney and Eddie Lee Gorski of Westminister; a daughter, Sandra Francine Bolin of Blacksburg; a sister, Betty Jean Childers of Gaffney; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ken Covington and Elder Manfred Martin. Burial was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were David Gorski, Bobby Gorski, Derrick Bridges, Lyle Bridges, Nick Bolin and Lee Bolin.
The family is at the residence.

Hunter I. Reap
SMYRNA – Hunter Isaac Reap, of 1371 McGill Hwy., infant son of Joshua and Brandy Philbeck Reap, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Jeremy Allen Dover; maternal grandparents, Debbie and Charles Stokes of Smyrna; paternal grandparents, William and Claudette Stewart Reap of York; maternal great-grandparents, Mack and Gennie Wyatt of Smyrna; paternal great-grandmother, Vera Stewart of Clover; and maternal great-great-grandmother, Vera Wyatt of Clover.
Graveside services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Roy Ivey.

Danny E. Randolph
Employed by Creative Builders in Greenville
COWPENS – Danny Eugene Randolph, 42, of 163 Twin Creek Rd., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at his residence.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Judy Shields Randolph and son of Donald and Ruby Lockhart Randolph of Chesnee. He was employed by Creative Builders in Greenville and was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Randolph of Tennessee; two sons, Danny Randolph of Tennessee and Donald Randolph of the home; and two brothers, Ronnie L. Randolph of Cowpens and Clarence A. Randolph of Chesnee.
Services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home, Chesnee, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Revels.
The family is at the home of his parents at 1360 Piedmont Rd., Chesnee.

James F. Leach
Funeral services for James F. Leach, 85, of 605 Davis St. in Gaffney will be held today at 3 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church, with the Revs. Michael A. Bridges, Warren Manning, and Vance Sarratt, Drs. U.D. Vernon and J.W. Sanders Sr., Bishop Janett Leach, and Chaplin Hutchesun officiating.
Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Cemetery.
Flower bearers will be his nieces; pallbearers will be his nephews.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. today.
The family is at the home of Mary Ann Lipscomb, 616 Littlejohn St. in Gaffney.
Foster Funeral Home of Gaffney is in charge of arrangements.

Edd Phillips Sr.
Funeral services for Edd Phillips Sr., 81, of 375 Serpintine Dr. in Spartanburg, husband of Ella Mae Watkins Phillips are tentatively set for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Suck Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Macomson officiating.
The family is at the home of Gloria D. Tate, 214 Jolly Drive in Gaffney.
Foster Funeral home is in charge.
