Homer E. Elwood Sr.
Co-owner of Union Tool and Stamping
LOCKHART – Homer E. Elwood Sr., 82, of 105 South 4th St. Ext. died Monday, March 31, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Elwood was born in Colebrook, Ohio, a son of the late Perry Jadee Elwood and Ruth Hill Elwood Hart. He was a co-owner of Union Tool and Stamping, the inventor and patent holder of the L-WOOD wood heater. He was a member of Lockhart Masonic Lodge No. 244, Lockhart Senior Citizens Club, American Legion Post 76 and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a former Scout Master of Lockhart Troop 45 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lockhart. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
Mr. Elwood is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Lee Elwood of the home; four daughters, Loree E. Yarborough of Chester, Marjorie Childers of Union, Bonnie Crocker of Gaffney and Gina Harris of Lockhart; a son, Homer E. Elwood Jr. of Laurens; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lockhart. Burial will be in the Lockhart Cemetery.

Julia H. McCraw
Julia Huskey McCraw, 86, of 1508 Oakridge Rd., died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Woodrow W. McCraw and daughter of the late George B. Huskey Sr. and the late Susie Hamrick Huskey. She was a homemaker and member of East Gaffney Baptist Church.
Surviving n addition to her husband are two sons, George Wayne McCraw an Edward McCraw, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Laura Ford of Nichols and Rachel Wilkes of Gaffney; two sisters, Louise Kale of Kannapolis, N.C., and Sue Price of Cliffside; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCraw was preceded in death by a brother, G.B. Huskey.
Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Ron Jackson.
The family is at the residence.

Joe D. Reynolds
Cherokee County native
WELLFORD – Joe David Reynolds, 44, of 2039 Nazareth Rd., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at his home.
A native of Cherokee County, he was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his mother, Shirley Jones Walker of Wellford; father and stepmother, Jack David and Zonia Reynolds of Gaffney; fiance, Ember McCracken of the home; a daughter, Shannon Nicole Reynolds of Grover, N.C.; two brothers, Ron Reynolds of Greer and Steve Reynolds of Blacksburg; a sister, Lisa Reynolds of Wellford; four nieces and a nephew.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Keith Kelly and Pastor Jean Dockery. Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
