Fannie G. Parker
Haywood County, N.C., native
Fannie G. Parker, 75, of 209 Old Race Track Rd., died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, N.C., Mrs. Parker was the daughter of the late Carl Avery and Minnie Bell Crawford Shehan. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Fred Keller, C.R. “Frank” Keller, Jerry Keller and Donnie Parker, all of Gaffney; a brother, Ned Shehan of Gaffney; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Ron Jackson. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon at White Columns-Gaffney.

Katie D. Landers
Laurinburg, N.C., native; retired lab technician
SPARTANBURG – Katie Deaton Landers, 94, of 638 Overhill Dr., died on Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Landers was the widow of Jack Landers and was first married to the late O.C. Sanders. A native of Laurinburg, N.C., she was a daughter of the late William T. and Julia Ann Green Deaton. She was a retired lab technician and member of Evangel Cathedral.
Surviving are a daughter, Marguerite Foster, of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 1-1:45 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home in Boiling Springs. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Revs. Jerry Clevenger and Jan King. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Gene R. Presnell
Native of Barstow, Calif.
Gene Ray Presnell, 33, of 360 Cherokee Ridge Dr., died Monday, Aug.18, 2003. at his home.
A native of Barstow, Calif., he was the husband of Sherry Morton Presnell and the son of Patsy Packwood Presnell and the late George F. Presnell Sr.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheyenne Presnell of the home; a son, Cody Presnell of the home; two sisters, Gall Owens of Pacolet and Geraldine Brady of Inman; five brothers, George Freeman Presnell Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Glenn Dale Presnell of Gaffney, Gerald A. Presnell and Grant L. Presnell, both of Barstow, Calif., and Guy Presnell of Gaffney.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, conducted by Dr. Dennis Carter.
The family is at the home.

Charlie Ramsey
Worked for many years in the grocery business
ROCK HILL – Charles “Charlie” Wayne Ramsey, 65, of 1102 Apt. 5, Ebinport Road, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Paula “Terri” Ledford Ramsey and son of the late J.C. Ramsey and the late Elizabeth Parker Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey worked many years in the grocery business, having been employed by Shaw Brothers, Bi-Lo and Fresh Air Galaxy in Union. He was a volunteer at Piedmont Medical Center and the York County Victim’s Assistance. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Steve Ramsey of Courtland, Ohio, Tim Ramsey, Matt Ramsey and Bryant Ramsey, all of Rock Hill; two daughters, Vanessa Hamilton of Sumter and Beth Gentry of Rock Hill; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at West End Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Lowery. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Hollis Lakes Road.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill, and at other times will be at the home of his daughter, Beth Gentry, 4642 Laurendale Court, Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Dr., Greer, S.C. 29650.

Tommie Anne Ruppe
Homemaker; member of Midway Baptist Church
Tommie Anne Whelchel Ruppe, 79, of 1209 W. Rutledge Ave., died today, Aug. 20, 2003, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of R.F. “Pete” Ruppe and daughter of the late Homer Whelchel and the late Mary Camp Whelchel. She was a homemaker and member of Midway Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda McCraw and Judy Dennis, both of Gaffney; two sons, Phillip Ruppe and Tony Ruppe, both of Gaffney; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Patterson, Janelle Robison, both of Gaffney, and Mary Phillips of Charlotte; and four brothers, Horace Whelchel of Gaffney, Don Whelchel of Fort Mill, Bud Whelchel of Pendleton and George Whelchel of Norris.
The family is at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Meals on Wheels or Midway Baptist Church.
