Robert D. Mills Sr.
Retired from Springfield Mills
Robert Dean Mills Sr., 66, of 803 Beech St., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Buffalo, he was the husband of Thelma Pack Mills of the home and son of the late Dean Mills and Eva Harvey Mills Moss. He was a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, retired from Springfield Mills and currently associated with Hamrick’s.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert Dean Mills Jr. of Gaffney; a daughter, Lydia Ann Wyatt of Gaffney; a brother, J. Harold Mills of Buffalo; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lula Mae Mills Peeler.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Rick Lancaster and Mike Proctor. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church today from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service and at other times they will be at the home.
Pallbearers will be John Browning, Joe Dean Cox, Dale Ruppe, David Deaton, Dean Mills and Mark Mills.
Memorials may be made to Building Fund, Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, 512 Chandler Dr., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

Charles W. Graham
Colorado native
Charles Wayne Graham, 39, of 110 George Way Rd., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at his residence.
Born in Colorado Springs, Colo., he was the husband of Brigette Diane Mullinax Graham and son of Charles Ray Graham and Roxie Jacklyn Moore Graham of Gaffney. He was a billboard hanger for Daisy Billboard and was of the Baptist faith.
Also surviving are a son, Charles Lefoy Graham of the home; a daughter, Heather Dawn Graham of Gaffney; a sister, Linda Graves of Blacksburg; three brothers, Steve Graham of Shelby, Jason Graham of Gaffney and Billy Graham of Blacksburg.
Mr. Graham was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Graham.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Tolley.
Pallbearers will be Greg Dills, Nick Alverson, Robbie Parker, Jason Belue, Robbie Mullinax and Marty Byrum.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Gordon Mortuary, Blacksburg, and at other times they will be at 203 S. Calles St., Blacksburg.

Shirley O. Blanton
Worked with Bank of America for 42 years
BLACKSBURG – Shirley Owana Blanton, 67, of 602 S. Shelby St., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at her home.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Bate and Murphy Bridges Blanton and was associated with the Bank of America in Charlotte for 42 years. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and before her illness she was very active in the deaf community.
Surviving are three brothers, Hubert Blanton of Fort Mill, Ledford Blanton of Gaffney and Bob Blanton of Blacksburg; three sisters, Hashell Garrick of Gaffney, Madge Lucente of Fort Mill and Margie Blanton of the home; 11 nephews; five nieces; seven great-nephews; and eight great-nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Blanton.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. Charlie Barnard.
Pallbearers will be Richard Lucente, Jimmy Lucente, Johnny Lucente, Terry Blanton, Bill Blanton, Ronnie Blanton, Arnold Blanton, Robbie Blanton, Jason West, Brian West, Ted Blanton and Chris Hunt.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Rd., Blacksburg, S.C. 29702; or to Hospice of Spartanburg, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.

C.D. Harrison
Services for C.D. Harrison, 83, of 204 Woodlawn St., husband of Gladys Lee Wilson Harrison of Columbia, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. William Wilks, Van Williams and Robert L. Dover. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Flower bearers and pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Harrison died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 12:15 a.m. at his residence after a long illness.
