David L. Childers
Textile employee
KINGS MOUNTAIN – David Leroy Childers, 40, of 111 Farris Road, died Friday, March 5, 2004, in Cleveland County.
A native of Blacksburg, he was the son of Norma Jean Sprouse Childers and the late Lester Childers. He was a textile employee and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother is a sister, Tammy M. Borders of Blacksburg.
In addition to his father, Mr. Childers was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara McGinnis and Janice Bowen.
Graveside services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, conducted by the Revs. Gregg Martin and Lucky Earls.
Pallbearers will be Billy Lee Sprouse, Jay McAbee, Yancy Patterson, Johnny Martin and Kenneth Martin.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of his sister, Tammie Borders, 118 Brown St., Blacksburg.

Jo Ann B. Jacobs
BLACKSBURG – Jo Ann Bell Jacobs, 73, of 103 Short St., died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at her residence.
A native of Gaffney, she was the wife of George Anthony Jacobs and daughter of the late Joe Ransom Bell and the late Anna Lee Mullinax Bell. She was a homemaker and member of Blacksburg Church of God.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a granddaughter, Carmella Wright and husband, Dustin Wright, of Gaffney; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin Michael Wright and Kayla Wright, both of Gaffney.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Graham.
Services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jamie Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Danny McDaniel, Clay Greer, Mike Sellers, Elmore Stroup, Bob Wilson and Gene Martin.
The family is at the residence.
