Daisy P. Davis
Blacksburg native
HICKORY GROVE – Daisy Parker Davis, 60, of 6167 Lee Foster Road, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Valessa K. Davis, 1560 Wide Glide Court, Rock Hill.
Mrs. Davis was born on April 6, 1943, a daughter of Sheward Parker of New York and Lillian Parker Dye of Blacksburg. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Gaffney and a member of the Prince Riley Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Also surviving are her husband, Paul Davis of the home; two sons, Paul Zackery Davis of York and Joshua Demond Davis of Hickory Grove; a daughter, Valessa K. Davis of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Valessa K. Davis, 1560 Wide Glide Court, Rock Hill.

Charles G. Blalock
Retired from Victory Mill
Charles G. Blalock, 75, of 108 Washington Ave., died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at his home.
Born in Newberry County, he was the husband of Clara Gordon Blalock and son of the late Manning and Minnie Scruggs Blalock. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Victory Mill in Gastonia, N.C., and was of the Baptist faith.
Also surviving are three sons, Dennis Blalock of Union, Ronald Wilson of Kings Mountain and Tim Wilson of Gastonia; two daughters, Janice Wilson and Cathy Kelly, both of Gastonia; two brothers, Bill Blalock of Gaffney and Randolph Blalock of Union; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Josephine Blalock, Ruth Cox, Eddie Blalock, Earl Blalock and John Henry Blalock.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Mike Proctor.
The family will receive friends at 108 Washington Ave. until service time on Thursday.

Lillian P. Dye
Kings Creek native
BLACKSBURG – Lillian Parker Dye, 78, of B-1 Mulberry Apts., widow of Demorris Dye, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at 6:54 a.m. in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Daughter of the late Mamie Parker, she was a native of the Kings Creek community of Cherokee County. She joined Hopewell Presbyterian Church at an early age and lived most of her life in the Bronx, N.Y.
Surviving are three grandchildren she reared, Paul Zackery Davis III of York, Lisa Davis of Rock Hill and Joshua Davis of Marshall University, Huntington, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Zackeous Hardy Davis, Bryson R. Davis and Darrius D. Patton; nieces and nephews she also reared, Pat Parker Hill, Bernard Steadman and Orlene Steadman; a stepdaughter, Marie Dye Stewart of Syracuse, N.Y; and a son-in-law, Paul Davis Sr. of York, husband of her daughter, Daisy Davis, who will be buried today at York.
Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Funderburk. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends at the church at 2 p.m.

Elvira M. Thompson
Services for Elvira Renee Martin Thompson, 43, of 936 O'Neal St., wife of Philmon Timouthy Thompson, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Allen Temple C.M.E. Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ervin L. Hannah. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at noon.
Pallbearers will be William Littlejohn, Hazel Ross, John Dover, Greg Jefferies, William B.J. Jenkins, Joe Barnes, Dinnie Michael and Vincent Dawkins.
The family is at the home of her sister, Joyce Propst, 132 Kings Road.

Marie M. Lehman
Grover, N.C., native
Marie Martin Lehman of 13629 Gerkin Ave., Lawndale, Calif., died Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Torrance, Los Angeles.
A native of Grover, N.C., she was the wife of Neale Lehman and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Martin of Grover. Mrs. Lehman grew up in the Mt. Paran community and graduated from Grover High School.
Also surviving are two sisters, Evelyn Martin Clark of Charleston and Marian Martin Clark of Indianapolis, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Martin, of Gaffney.
Visitation will be held tonight at Pierce Bo. Del Fox Mortuary in Lawndale, Calif.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery in Blacksburg.
