L.D. Patterson
Retired from Limestone Mill
L.D. Patterson, 82, of 1472 Ellis Ferry Rd., died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the husband of Ruth Cody Patterson of the home and son of the late Claude Patterson and the late Margaret Bright Patterson. He was retired from Limestone Mills and attended New Harvest Church of God. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Dean Patterson of Gaffney; two daughters, Jean Blackwell and Nancy Pruitt, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Essie Haynes and Ruth Dover, both of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Michael McAbee, Patti Coyle and Susan Nolen; and three great-grandchildren, Amber Pettit, Maranda Coyle and Aaron Nolen.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert Wells. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Robert Nolen, Jack Bradbury, Mike McAbee, Michael McAbee, Robert Patterson and Walter Patterson.
The family is at the home.

Tracey C. Leach
Services for Tracey Caressa Leach, 19, of 1008 N. Limestone St., will be held today at 4 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Michael Bridges and the Revs. Heyward Boyd and Robert L. Perry. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. and the family will receive friends at the church from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be members of the ROTC of Gaffney Senior High School and honorary pallbearers will be her cousins.
Flower bearers will be students of the Institute of Cosmetic Arts of Spartanburg and honorary flower bearers will be her cousins.
The family is at the home of her aunt, Rev. Adriene Jamison, 504 Winchester Drive.

Evelyn R. Leslie
Member of Cherokee County Republican Party, Cherokee Humane Society
BLACKSBURG – Evelyn Ramsey Leslie, 70, of 159 Foggy Bottom Road, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at home.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the wife of John A. Leslie and daughter of the late Basil and Mae Eaker Ramsey. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Cherokee County Republican Party and the Humane Society of Cherokee County.
Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley R. and James Allen, of Grover; a niece, Tracy Kiser, of Grover; and a great-niece, Kimberly Messer, of Blacksburg.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Leslie home. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Leslie home.

Gary L. Littlejohn Sr.
Services with full military honors for Gary Leon Littlejohn Sr., 69, of Florida City, Fla., will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Danny Burnside. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Eugene Huffman Sr.
Catawba County, N.C., native
Eugene Huffman Sr., 69, of 316 Drayton Trail, Gaffney, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Born April 13, 1935, in Catawba County, N.C., he was the husband of Margaret Jo Parker Huffman of the home and son of the late Julius McKinley Huffman and the late Velma Lela Stevens Huffman. He was a retired self-employed vacuum salesman, service and repairman. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a former member of Masonic Lodge No. 709 in Conover, N.C.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Eugene Huffman Jr. of Charlotte; two daughters, Vicki Huffman and Michelle Kingsmore, both of Charlotte; a sister, Alta Mae Richie of Vale; a stepson, James Peterson of Gaffney; three stepdaughters, Melissa Willard, Debra Duvall and Susan McAbee, all of Gaffney; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Huffman, Cecil Huffman and K.C. Huffman.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, N.C., conducted by the Rev. Robert Wells. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Annie L. Roberts
Gaffney native
Annie Louise Roberts, 84, of 801 Hetty Hill St., died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at 8:37 a.m. in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Gaffney, she was the widow of Rev. Mason L. Roberts and daughter of the late Sinnie Davidson Montgomery and the late Forest Montgomery. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Senior Choir, Deaconess Board and AB&P Society and was past president of the Senior Missionary.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Roberts of the home; a son, Jason L. Roberts of Temple Hills, Md.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Eula Miller, Minister Taye Hailu and Minister Keesha Corry. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Flower bearers will be Mrs. Roberts' nieces and honorary flower bearers will be members of the AP&B Society.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Cherokee County.

Danny W. Meadows
Former employee of Upstate Truss Company
Danny Wayne Meadows, 57, of 301 Elm St., died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Joyce Elizabeth Godbee Meadows and son of the late Berlin Earl Meadows and the late Vaughty Ann Ramsey Meadows. He was a dedicated member of Gospel Lite Christian Fellowship and was a former employee of Upstate Truss Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Lois Ann Hickerson of Pacolet and Wanda Thompson of Richburg; four sons, Danny Millen of Gaffney, Charles Millen of Great Falls, Terry Millen of Shelby and Robert McKenzie, both of Shelby; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Darrell Meadows.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Forrest Teague and Mr. C.E. Meadows. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Millen, Jeremy Millen, Bruce Millen, Kevin Millen, Junior Hickerson, Stoney Millen, Gary Ruppe and Justin Meadows.
The family will receive friends any time today at the residence.
