James O. Jones
James Oak Odell Jones, 62, of No.. 28 White Oaks Apartments, died Monday, June 28, 2004 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Gaffney, he was the son of the late Ellis Jones and the late Annie White Jones. He was a retired of Mt. Vernon Dye Casting Corp. of Stamford, CT.
He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Washington of Stamford, Mrs. Mary E. Tate, Mrs. Arstrilla Oglesby, Mrs. Christine Boyd, and Ms. Katie Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Elva Lee Ellis Jolley, 79, of 193 Bailey Bridge Road, died June 28, 2004 at her home. She was the wife of the late Ferrel Amos Jolley and the daughter of the late Jimmy Ellis and the late Dottie Horton Ellis.
A native of Gaffney, she was a homemaker and charter member of Crestview Baptist Church. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a member of the Vickie Giles Sunday School Class.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis F. Jolley, Leslie J. Jolley of Albuquerque, NM, David A. Jolley of Greer; three daughters, Linda Messer, Janice Cash, Carol Jolley; six grandchildren, Eric Cash, LeAnn Easler, Laura Messer, Rae Price, Leslie Carol Jolley, Vanessa Byers; eleven great-grandchildren, Carrie Messer, Adam Messer, Tiffany Byers, Holly Byers, Samantha Price, Logan Easler, Jonathan Messer, Megan Price, Andrew Price, Benjamin Messer, Jason Easler; and three step-grandchildren, Dana West, Devon Jennings and Denise Holcombe.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church with the Reverend Rick Taylor and the Reverend DeWitt Clyde officiating. Burial will follow at New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Ray Price, Clyde McElrath, Fred Smith, Alan Smith, Eric Larson, Jeff Easler, Vance Hines, and Charles Byers, Sr.

Paul Nelson Ruppe, Sr.
Paul Nelson Ruppe, Sr., 38, of 227 Henderson Street, died June 28, 2004 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. He was the son of William O. Ruppe and the late Barbara Ann Teague Ruppe.
A native of Kings Mountain, N.C., he was employed by Service First Corporation and a member of Johnson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley Rhinehart, Polly Ruppe; one son, Paul Nelson Ruppe, Jr.; two sisters, Nicole Harris, Teresa Frady both of Spartanburg; his former wife, Tammie Ruppe Merrell; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m until 1:30 p.m. today at Shuford-Hatcher funeral home. Graveside services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Wayne Arrowood and the Reverend Tim Osment officiating.
The family is at 1230 Overbrook Dr. Apt. A-7.

Mae L. Henderson
NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Mae L. Henderson, 88, died Saturday, June 26, 2004. Mrs. Henderson was a Newport News resident since 1958. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she was a member of the Helen Reynolds Sunday School Class, Lamplighters Choir, and Barbara Deal Circle of the Womens Missionary Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard D. Henderson. Survivors include her son and his wife, Wayne and Peggy Henderson of Boone, N.C.; two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Jim Burdan and Sandy and Earl Vaughn; twelve grandchildren, Laurie Halperin, Shannon, Jeffery, Jordan and Matthew Henderson, Jennifer Kimberly and John Henderson, Jr., Tiffany Lohof, James Burdan, Jr., Christy and Eric Torres and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home, Newport News. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 1 at Temple Baptist Church in Newport News with the Reverend David Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.

Brian Wesley Ponder
MAYO - Brian Wesley Ponder, 45, of 150 Ponder Road, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at his home. A native of High Point, N.C., he was a son of Helen Morris Ponder of Mayo and the late William Wesley Ponder. He was a self employed maintenance man and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Wayne Ponder.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Mallory Colleen Ponder of Copperas Cove, TX; a son, William Brian Ponder of Copperas Cove; a sister, Kelly Ponder Crain and her husband Scott; his wife, Darlene Hutson of Copperas Cove; and a niece, Leah Crain of Mayo.
Funeral services will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at Chesnee First Baptist Church with the Reverend Chris Showen officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens. The familiy will receive friends at the church after the service.

Daniel Craig Butler
Daniel Craig Butler, 56, of 423 Burgess Road, died June 27, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Carolyn Mullinax Butler and the son of the late Guy Vernon Butler and the late Rebecca Colleen Butler Hamrick.
A native of Gaffney, he was formerly employed with Dorman Painting Co. and attended Bethel Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Anna Colleen Pierce and Lori Delane Sellars; a son, Bobby Lynn Sellars; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Bethel Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Alan Peeler officiating.
Pallbearers serving were his grandsons and friends.
