J.C. Davidson
Gaffney native
James C. "J.C." Davidson, 82, of Ridgeville, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Trident Regional Hospital in Charleston.
A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Sarah Davidson and son of the late Albert Davidson and the late Mary Jenkins Davidson.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mary Douglas of Gaffney; a son Robert Davidson and his wife, Donna, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Darrell Douglas, Jarron Davidson, Quensinai Douglas, J.B. Davidson and Tronnie Petty; seven great-grandchildren, Tyson Willis, Brand Douglas, T.J. Petty, Ashley Lattimore, James Petty, Taylor Petty and Asha Petty; and a sister-in-law, Laura Rankins of Gaffney.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Davidson and Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cephus Thompson Sr., Jeamill Davidson, William Frank Davidson, Nesbitt Jefferies, Jatobia Gist and Jeffery Gist.
The family will be the home of Mr. Davidson's nephew, Charlie Davidson Jr., at 409 Marion Ave., Gaffney.
Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Oliver F. Lemmons
Mr. Diesel
Oliver Freeman Lemmons, "Mr. Diesel," 82, of 1066 Robbs School Road, Gaffney, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004.
Son of the late Gothard O. and Macie W. Lemmons, he was the husband of Miriam P. Lemmons. Mr. Lemmons was a retired diesel mechanic and collector of "merchandise."
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Martha L. Spencer of Gaffney and JoAnn L. Brandtner of Greensburg, Pa.; four brothers, Dever Lemmons, Osborne Lemmons, JoDean Lemmons, all of Gaffney, and Perry Lemmons of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Juliet L. Keller and Vivian L. Ramsey, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Shuford Hatcher Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Warren Fowler and Stuart A. Kersey officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Lemmon's daughter, Martha, at 375 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grassy Pond Baptist Church.

Lynda H. Steadman
Chesnee native
Chesnee — Lynda Hawkins Steadman, 54, of 941 McSwain Road died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
A native of Spartanburg, she was the wife of Donald Steadman and daughter of the late Henry and Lucille Robbins Hawkins. She was a former employee of Long Mile Rubber Company for 18 years and was a member of Eden Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Atkins Brooks and her husband, Rodney, of Boiling Springs and Jennifer Atkins of Spartanburg; a step-son, Donald W. Steadman of Spartanburg; two sisters, Martha Turner and Peggy Wolfenbagger, both of Chesnee; a brother, Eugene Hawkins of Chesnee; and a granddaughter, Shelby Brooks.
Services were Monday at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eden Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 3271 Peachtree Road, Chesnee, S.C., 29323.

Hazel Horne Sutton
Member, Tate Memorial
Hazel Horne Sutton, 78, of 279 Conly Road, Pacolet, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at 3932 Pacolet Highway.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Charles Dennis Sutton and daughter of the late James Furman Horne and the late Matilda Stack Horne. She was retired from a shirt factory and was a member of Tate Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Aaron Whitlock of Pacolet; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister Carolyn Smith of Pacolet; a brother Gene Horne of Pacolet. She was preceded in death by a son James Richard Whitlock.
The family is at 3932 Pacolet Highway.
