James W. Fitzgerald
Retired from Cherokee Finishing Company
James William “Buck” Fitzgerald, 70, of 195 Hackberry Drive, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at his home.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the husband of Ruby Gaynell Fitzgerald of the home and son of Ethel Pearson Fitz-gerald of Gaffney and the late Vernon Fitzgerald. A member of Corinth Baptist Church, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired from Cherokee Finishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are three daughters, Marie F. McAbee of Daytona Beach, Fla., Janette F. Peacock of Spartanburg and Teresa F. Westaby of Gaffney; a stepdaughter, Wanda Parker of Gaffney; two sons, W. Allen Fitzgerald and Douglas Fitzgerald, both of Gaffney; a brother, Thomas Edward Fitzgerald of Gaffney; a sister, Peggy F. Scruggs of Gaffney; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by two brothers, Barney Fitzgerald and Bill Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Ken Covington.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30-8 at White Columns of Gaffney and at other times they will be at the home.
Pallbearers will be Brent Clary, Brandon Ramsey, Shannon Jones, Kelly McAbee, Keith Fitzgerald and Kenneth Fitzgerald.

James B. Littlejohn
Retired from Brown’s Packing
James Brodus Littlejohn, 63, of 409 East Junior High Road, Apt. 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at 12:28 p.m. in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Colleen L. Brown and was reared by the late Lockhart Harris and the late Ailean Harris. A 1961 graduate of Granard High School, he was retired from Brown’s Packing Company.
Surviving are three children, Gwendolyn Littlejohn, Tammie R. Tate and Maria J. Tate of Gaffney; five grandchildren; a sister, Ailean Jefferies of Middleburg, Fla.; reared in the home as sisters, Nannie Wiley, Pauline Shippy, both of Gaffney, and Lockart Terriell of Shelby; and two brothers, Jerome Brown of Orangeburg and Benjamin Harris of Gaffney.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Indian Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mary E. Jefferies. Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at noon.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be his nephews and nieces, respectively.
The family is at 127 Pineville Road in the Northgate Community.

Lonnie C. Davis
Services for Lonnie C. Davis, (known to many as L.C. Bonner), 74, of 112 O’Sage Circle, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Gaffney, conducted by the Revs. Sherman Davis, Lawrence Davidson, Dr. J.W. Sanders Jr. and Minister Alice Dawkins. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be his nephews and nieces, respectively.

Ava L. Edwards
Spartanburg County native
CHESNEE – Ava Lou Edwards, 70, of 867 Rutherfordton Hwy., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at her home.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was the wife of Lloyd A. Edwards and daughter of Mamie Lou Brock Spake and the late Crawford E. Spake. She was a very special lady with a lot of love to give. She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult III Ladies’ Sunday School Class.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hicks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Raymond Byrd and Mr. Larry Price.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee.
Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave., Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
The family is at the home.
