W.A. Crocker
      William (W.A.) Addison Crocker, 79, of 196 Goucher School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his residence. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Patricia Brown Crocker and son of the late Benjamin Frank Crocker and Mary Bell Parker Crocker. He was a graduate of Cowpens High School and was retired from Cherokee Finishing after 40 years of service.

      Osborne Messer Jr., 66, of 133 Marietta St., Lot 2, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at his home. Born in Cherokee County on Feb. 7, 1943, Mr. Messer was the son of the late Osborne and Annie Messer of Gastonia, N.C. He was of the Church of God faith, worked as a cab driver for City Cab and was a race car driver.

      Grace Virginia Melton Freeman, 82, of Macon, Ga., died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Nathaniel and Daisy Idell Gaffney Melton. She and her husband, the late Martin Frelix Freeman Jr., were married for 56 years.
