Fall Festival features music, food and fun
It’s fun time Saturday in Uptown Gaffney when the Gaffney Little Theatre sponsors a Fall Festival in the parking lot beside the Medicine Shoppe. The festival, a fund-raising project of the theatre, will feature barbecue cooked by Darrell Carpenter and music by The Easy Street Band. The day-long festivities begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. Other scheduled activities include amusements for children, a magic show, gospel quartets and choirs, square dancing and vendors. Performances will also be given by Hands of Grace, the Gaffney High School Drama Department and Journey School of Arts and Wings Drama students. The Easy Street Band will entertain with a variety of music, including rock, country, beach and blues. Barbecue plates include all the delicious trimmings and will be $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The lineup, announced by Ann Crotzer, events chairperson, includes: 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Easy Street Band; 11-11:30 a.m., magic show; 11:30-noon, Journey School of the Arts’ first and second graders; 12-12:30 p.m., Gaffney Senior High School Dance Department combination dance; 12:30-1 p.m., Wings Drama, Kerr Twins; 1-1:30 p.m., Hands of Grace singers; 1:30 p.m., Bob Crawley’s Cloggers; 2-2:30 p.m., The Bridges Family; 2:30-3 p.m., Mavarris Blanton and company from “Where Two Rivers Converge,” singing; 3-3:30 p.m., Limestone Missionary Baptist Church Choirs; and 3:30-4 p.m., Ken Rollins Square Dance Team with Ken Rollins and Wofford Martin serving as callers. Vendors will be on hand with candy apples, lemonade, nacho cheese, snowcones, funnel cakes, popcorn, fried Oreos, cider, coffee and hot chocolate. “We invite everyone to come spend a fun-filled day with friends and neighbors,” said Mrs. Crotzer, “and support the Gaffney Little Theatre.”
