Three teen girls charged after school bus incident
Three female students have been charged in connection with an altercation on a Cherokee County school bus Monday.
Sadi Maxine Littlejohn, 17, of 806 4th St., Gaffney, and two 16-year-old juvenile girls, both of Gaffney, are charged by school resource officer Eric Quinn of the Gaffney Police Department with disturbing schools and simple assault and battery.
The three have been given 10 days out-of-school suspension and face expulsion, said Gaffney High Principal Dr. Quincie Moore.
The bus was traveling from Cherokee Technology Center at noon when Littlejohn and one of the juvenile girls began cursing and threatening a third student, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states.
The third student allegedly left her seat, went to the front of the bus and confronted the two girls and began hitting them. All three of the students then began brawling, according to police.
The fight broke up and the driver began transporting the students again when one of the juveniles tried to hit the other girl again causing one of them to fall into the bus driver, the report states.
The commotion caused the driver to slam on the brakes sending the three girls into the front windshield, breaking the glass and the rear view mirror, police said.
There were no serious injuries.
Quinn reviewed the bus’s surveillance tape prior to issuing the warrants.
