Christmas parade set for Dec. 11
It’ll be looking a lot like Christmas in Uptown Gaffney on Saturday, Dec. 11, when the Cherokee County Veterans Council sponsors the annual Christmas parade. The parade will get under way at 10 a.m. at Limestone Street and College Drive and continue down Limestone Street. It will disband at the Gaffney Manufacturing parking lot. Motorcycles and 4-wheelers will gather at South Petty Street and Rutledge Avenue. Individuals or organizations wishing to enter should call 489-4704, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Charitable or nonprofit organizations may enter the parade free. There is a $25 entry fee for businesses. Commercial floats are still available for rent. No candy can be thrown from vehicles and floats. Parade participants wishing to distribute candy should have someone walk beside their unit and hand it out.
