Miss Taylor, Mr. Mabry exchange vows Sept. 25

(the former April Taylor)Mrs. Chad Mabry (the former April Taylor) April Taylor of Gaffney and Chad Mabry of Pauline exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Gaffney. The Rev. Sidney Norton conducted the 3 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed in the Family Life Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Mabry are making their home at 905 Lyman St. after spending their honeymoon at the beach.

The bride is the daughter of David and Julie Taylor of Gaffney and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward O’Shields of Union and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Taylor of Lockhart. A graduate of Spartanburg Day School, she is employed by Piedmont Glass.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Osborne Mabry of Pauline. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Broadus Steading of Spartanburg and Lucille Mabry of Spartanburg. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, he is employed by Stankiewicz.

Music was provided by Thomas Bishop of Union, organist; Sarah O’Shields of Union, flautist; and Joyce Fankhauser of Greenville, harpist.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory strapless gown enhanced with a beaded bodice and chapel train. Her fingertip ivory veil was caught to a tiara and she carried a bouquet of fall-colored roses, bittersweet, feathers, Chinese lanterns and other mixed flowers.

Julie Sossamon of Gaffney, long-time friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Mabry of Pauline and Kearston Cunningham of Spartanburg, sisters of the groom, and Ferran O’Shields of Union, cousin of the bride. The attendants were attired in apricot strapless tea-length dresses accented with beige sashes.

The groom was attended by his father as best man. Groomsmen were Cory Taylor of Gaffney, brother of the bride, James Padgett of Spartanburg, friend of the groom, and Kaleb Ledford of Roebuck, cousin of the groom.
