TMBA Congress will host annual seminar this week
Demonstrating the theme, "Church Leadership and Effective Christian Workers," the Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education's 32nd annual seminar will be held today through Thursday from 6-8:45 p.m. at the Associational Building, 1505 Old Post Road.
Classes will be offered for children (ages 3 and older), youths, young adults, women, men, ministers and ministers' wives.
The youth division will meet at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. The schedule is: 6-6:05 p.m., praise period: 6:05-6:40 p.m., study; 6:40-6:45, break; 6:45-8:35 p.m., activities; 8:45-9 p.m.; closing assembly with adult division.
The adult division schedule is: 6-6:05 p.m., praise period, Rev. Mill McHam, Deacon J.B. Valentine, Rev. James Patton; 6:05-7 p.m., Session I; 6:10 p.m., ministers' class; 7-7:05 p.m., break; 7:05-8:45 p.m., Session 2; 8:45-9 p.m., closing assembly.
The youth curriculum is themed "Bible-based, Christ-centered, Baptist-focused." Youth seminar leaders will be: children (3-5) Cynthia Watkins; 1st and 2nd grades, Dr. Charlene Hunter and Rev. Ronnie Miller; 3rd and 4th grades, Rev. Michael Bridges, Tecora Watts, James Davis and Rev. William Cleveland III; 5th and 6th grades, Rev. Omigene Proctor, Mary Phillips and Jessie Manning; 7th and 8th grades, Earlene Littlejohn, Rev. Mark Lattimore and Angela Dawkins.
The 9th through 12th grades' theme is "March of Dimes Project Curriculum." Leaders will be Linda Westfield, Dr. Carol McFadden, Rev. Wilbert Jamison, Dr. Dorse Cleveland and Rev. D. L. Burnside.
Session two will feature youth activities and will consist of the following: praising dancing, Angela Dawkins; drama unit, Linda Askari, Rev. Omigene Proctor, Dr. Carol McFadden, Dr. Dorse Cleveland and Eariene Littlejohn; youth choir, Rev. Angela Cleveland, Rev. William Cleveland III; orchestra, Zach Greene; Christian step team, Daryl Moss. A recreation period and snacks will be offered.
