Armed robbery
Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Save More, 1914 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, around 10 p.m. Thursday, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office states. The store’s clerk told sheriff’s deputies that a black man wearing a ski mask entered the store armed with a shotgun, the report states. The gunman took $240 from the cash register, police said. Cain and Abel? A domestic dispute between brothers could have turned more serious last week but the situation was controlled when police seized a large butcher knife from a 14-year-old, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. Capt. Chris Skinner of the Gaffney PD took the knife away from the boy, who was allegedly threatening to use the weapon to kill his 17-year-old brother, the report states. The boy was charged with criminal domestic violence and returned to the custody of his grandmother following the dispute last Friday on Anthony Street, police said.
