Turkey donations are needed for local homeless ministries
GREENVILLE – Miracle Hill Ministries, in partnership with AM 660 WLFJ, is asking the community to help provide a much-needed item for Thanksgiving dinner – turkeys.
The goal is 660 turkeys (or hams), for which many will go to provide Thanksgiving dinner to clients at the Greenville Rescue Mission, Greenville Harbor of Hope, Gaffney Miracle Hill Children’s Home, Pumpkintown Miracle Life Mission, Spartanburg Shepherd’s Gate, and Greenville Palmetto Boys Shelter.
Typically, over 1,000 people are fed at the organization’s Thanksgiving feasts, which are held the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This year, the feasts will be held on November 24. Open to the public are the dinners at Greenville Rescue Mission, Miracle Life Mission and Harbor of Hope, all of which begin at 6 p.m. at the respective shelters.
Turkeys can be dropped off at the following locations before November 19: Greenville Rescue Mission, 575 W. Washington St.; Harbor of Hope, 227 Henderson St., Gaffney; Miracle Life Mission, 189 N. Forest St., Spartanburg; and Miracle Hill Ministries administrative offices, 2419 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville.
For information on the turkey drive or Thanksgiving volunteer opportunities, contact Miracle Hill’s administrative office, (864) 268-4357.
