Romeo Max Rollins U.S. Navy veteran Romeo Max Rollins, 66, of 169 Junie Road, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, he was the husband of Ann Dixon Rollins of the home and son of the late James Wade and Etheryn Hammett Rollins. He was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Timothy Max Rollins and David Dewayne Rollins, both of Gaffney; a brother, James Marcus Rollins, of Gaffney; and five grandchildren. Services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Frazier officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bedford Fitzgerald, Randy Littlejohn, Randall Littlejohn, Chris Bedenbaugh, Tim Ruppe and Charles McCraw. The family is at the home. Leonard S. Teague Formerly employed by City of Gaffney Leonard Samuel Teague, 62, of Limestone Street, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Gaffney, he was the son of the late John Creighton Teague and the late Mary Blanton Teague. He was formerly employed by the City of Gaffney and was a Christian and member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Chesnee. Surviving are a brother, Robert Teague of Chesnee; a sister, Patricia Hayes of Gaffney; and a number of nieces and nephews and an uncle. In addition to his parents, Mr. Teague was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Dean Teague. Graveside services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Rice. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. today at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Donald Reese, Buford Phillips, Jackie Stanford, Bobby Willard, Thomas Kitchens and James Kitchens. The family is at the home of Richard Poole, 1072 Hamrick St., Gaffney. Davis Sr., 91, of 1020 N. Granard St., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Geraldine Sarratt Davis of the home and son of the late Jerman T. Davis and the late Elizabeth Loftis Davis. He was a retired businessman and a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Roy D. Davis Jr. of Gastonia, N.C.; a grandson, the Rev. Scott Davis of Concord, N.C.; a granddaughter, Kim Freeman of Belmont, N.C.; a sister, Marguerite Robinson of New York; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Davis, and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel, conducted by Dr. Clyde Thomas and the Revs. Scott Davis and Sidney Norton. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be members of the Millwood-Smith Sunday School Class of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence. Cornelia O. Skinner Retired hairdresser Cornelia Owensby Skinner, 85, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2004. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late W. M. (Bill) and Minnie Pennington Owensby. She was a retired hairdresser and a life-long member of East Gaffney Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Basil H. Skinner; a brother, Floyd Owensby; and four sisters, Alta Moore, Inez Shirley, Mildred White, and Dezzie Whiten. Surviving are a daughter, Charlene Clary and her husband, Mike; a daughter-in-law, Eddie Dee Skinner; three grandsons, Chris Skinner, Kent Sellars and David Sellars, all of Gaffney; two great-grandsons, Mike Skinner and Matthew Skinner, both of Gaffney; and two brothers, Basil Owensby, of Palm Bay, Fla., and James (Sam) Owensby, of Louisville, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at East Gaffney Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ron Jackson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Wilma Jane Coggins Retired director of personnel department at Gaffney Manufacturing Wilma Jane Sarratt Coggins, 94, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Peachtree Centre. Born in the City of Gaffney on Sept. 9, 1910, she was the daughter of the late John Quincey Sarratt and Myrtle Bessie Camp Sarratt. She was the widow of Paul Noel Coggins who passed away on Jan. 1, 1997. The couple was married on Nov. 12, 1938, at Providence Baptist Church during a 5 p.m. ceremony. In 1939, Mrs. Coggins began working as an assistant in the personnel department at Gaffney Manufacturing and was, before retiring in 1959, promoted to the Director of Personnel. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Gaffney. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Janelle Taylor Sarratt, and nephew, Samuel Clayton Sarratt. Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Joel Sellars and Bobby Morrow. Pallbearers were Jim Cudd, Larry Belk, Johnny Sarratt, Bill Sarratt, Tom Higgins and Gregory Tate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 200 N. Myrtle H. Hawkins SHELBY – Myrtle Hamrick Hawkins, 63, of 5033 Pecan Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
