Sheriff’s deputies arrest multiple people for recent thefts
Police have arrested people on a variety of charges relating to burglaries and thefts.
Among the items stolen are a radiator, copper cable, a rifle, chainsaws, weed trimmers and various tools.
Chucky James Elmore, 22, of 304 West View Drive; Leona Y. Duffie, 28, of 187 Old Chester Road, Lot 4; and Kollen Edward Stacker, 21, of 589 White Farms Road; are each charged with two counts of grand larceny, according to warrants signed by Detective Tim Clark of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies have accused the three of taking a radiator for a Peterbilt tractor from a residence at 348 Indian Springs Road in Blacksburg on Nov. 2, a report at the sheriff's office states. Donald Falls, 54, of that address told police that his son followed the suspects who were driving an older model Ford truck but he couldn't keep up, according to police.
About $2,000 worth of stolen copper cable has also been linked to Elmore, Duffie and Stacker, police said. The copper cable was taken from a Duke Power Company substation site between Oct. 11 and Nov. 9. A screwdriver recovered at that scene was turned over to crime scene investigator Jimmy Henson of the sheriff's office for further investigation.

A brother of one of the suspects has also been arrested by sheriff's deputies for allegedly committing a similar crime, according to another report at the sheriff's office. Korey Stacker, 25, also of 589 Whites Farm Road is charged with 2nd-degree burglary by Detective Tim Clark of the sheriff's office.
Police said Stacker entered a home at 252 Tribal Road, Blacksburg, belonging to 52-year-old William Pressley of Spartanburg by breaking open a side door June 25.
Stacker is accused of ransacking the home while looking for valuables. Pressley also told police that about 10 days before that incident someone stole three chainsaws and two weed trimmers from an outbuilding.

Members of the alleged theft ring are also linked to a Nov. 13 vehicle burglary, according to the sheriff's office. Korey Stacker is charged with grand larceny and breaking and entering an automobile, police said.
Also arrested were Elmore; William Simpson Fitch, 22, of 1936 Victory Trail Road, Gaffney; and Kristin Yonkosky, 17, of 1936 Victory Trail Road, Gaffney; are each charged with grand larceny. Roy Mullinax, 38, of 103 Boone St., Blacksburg, is charged with receiving stolen goods, according to the sheriff's office.

Police said tools and a 30-30 rifle worth $1,200 were stolen out of a vehicle belonging to Olin Martin of 1097 Caldwell Road, Gaffney.
