A Gaffney man was driving under the influence (DUI) when his vehicle struck a utility pole on North Limestone Street late Friday night, according to the Gaffney Police Department.

Travis Jeffery Loftis, of 1212 S. Petty St., Gaffney, is charged with DUI by Gaffney Police Officer Randy Quinn after Loftis underwent a field sobriety test.

Loftis was traveling south in a 2002 Saturn on North Limestone Street near Holland Street and Limestone Court Apartments when he crossed the center line and struck a telephone pole at McCraw Street, according to an accident report.

No one was seriously injured in the accident. The utility pole belongs to the Gaffney Board of Public Works.
