Prior to the wedding hour, a prelude of organ music was performed by Robert Arthur Ivey. The mothers were seated to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by J.S. Bach. The processional music was "Te Dewn" by Maek-Charpentier. The bride entered to "Trumpet Tune" by Henry Purcell.

Two mass arrangements of ivory roses, white tall delphinium, hydrangea and greenery graced the altar. Five-branch candelabra adorned with greenery and ivory roses were also placed on the altar. Candelabra and greenery marked the pews.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a diamond-white silk satin gown featuring re-embroidered Alencon lace panels adorning the bodice and skirt. A narrow satin ribbon banded the waist and the skirt flowed into a chapel train. Her chapel-length veil was edged in silk satin ribbon and cascaded from a band of pearls. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the groom, and pearl and diamond drop earrings, a gift for her parents. The necklace had once belonged to the groom's grandmother, Mrs. Richard Edward Spainhour.

The attendants were attired in strapless gowns of mocha faille and carried nosegays of ivory roses, green hydrangea, Queen Anne's lace, green button pumps and green hypericum berries. They wore double-circle sterling silver necklaces, gifts from the bride.

Flower girls were the bride's nieces, Parrish Fayssoux Hunt of Greensboro and Elizabeth Carol Schlatter of Wichita, Kansas. Their ankle-length dresses of diamond-white dupioni silk featured empire bodices adorned with seed pearls. They carried pomanders of roses and hydrangea and wore halos of ivory spray roses, berries and ivy in their hair. Pearl necklaces, gifts from the bride, complemented their ensembles.
