Floyd Baker Boulevard isn’t the only spot receiving hard looks from developers who want to locate restaurants here.

According to sources close to the project, a 1.5-acre parcel along Hwy. 11 has been sold to a buyer who plans to open a restaurant.

The parcel is adjacent to the First National Bank of the Carolinas branch. The parcel was owned by the bank.

The restaurant, which is expected to feature a casual dining menu, could be open within six months, according to the sources.

Last week, the Ledger reported that Zaxby’s, a restaurant that features a menu of chicken and side dishes, will be constructed on an outparcel at the old Gaffney Mall site.

A new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant is also expected to open soon at its new location at Cherokee Plaza on Floyd Baker Boulevard.
