Former Gaffney standout Roger McIntosh was an honorable mention selection on the Associated Press All-ACC team announced Monday. McIntosh received 33 points on balloting from the Atlantic Coast Media Association. McIntosh is a junior for the Miami Hurricanes.

Limestone swimmers won every event to post a 113-55 victory over Salem University. Jamie Madewell had four first place finishers while Brittany Peterson finished first in three events and sophomore Carolyn Roberts took first place in two events.

Lady Saints ink

Easley volleyball star

Limestone College announced Tuesday that Melissa Thomas of Easley has signed a grant-in-aid to play volleyball for the Lady Saints.

Thomas, a 6-2 all-region selection, was her team’s most outstanding defensive player.

Lady Wildcats

drop two games

The Blacksburg Lady Wildcats fell behind early and couldn’t muster a comeback in a 48-19 loss to Chapman on Tuesday. Kellee Deal had five points to lead the Lady Wildcats.

On Monday, the Lady Wildcats struggled offensively in a 54-13 loss to Polk County.

Sheira Vernon had five points for the Lady Wildcats, who failed to score in the third quarter.

Katie Harwick’s rebounding effort was a bright spot for the Lady Wildcats.

“We have to shoot the ball better,” Wildcats’ coach Frank Harris said.

Gaffney Middle

tops Ewing

Steffon Adams scored nine points and Prentice Dewberry and Fred Douglas both scored eight to lift Gaffney Middle to a 32-21 victory over Ewing. In girls’ action, Tiarra Morris had seven points and Kiesha Leach added six as Gaffney Middle topped Ewing, 25-20.
