‘Taste of Cherokee’ cookbooks now available
Get your pots and pans out, folks. Another Taste of Cherokee cookbook is now available.
“I have been getting calls for the past month asking when the cookbooks will be ready. I anticipate that we will sell out of these faster than we did those last year,” said Gail Stephenson, Service Center manager.
Eight hundred cookbooks were printed in 2003 and they sold as fast as they could be printed. This year, 1,000 will be printed. They are $8 each.
There are over 100 recipes in the cookbook, including a recipe from Gov. Mark Sanford’s wife for his favorite casserole. Limestone College sent in the recipe for its famous Lemon Stacks. In total, there are 160 pages of mouth-watering dishes.
The Print Depot donated the full-color cover that features a local child enjoying a meal at the annual Taste of Cherokee event. There are also places to write notes or add recipes.
The cookbooks can be purchased at the American Red Cross office, 301 N. Limestone St. The office is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each weekday. The cookbooks are also available at the Palmetto Bank in Blacksburg and at the Spartanburg office of the American Red Cross.
“The Cherokee County office will be closed the week of Christmas,” Stephenson said, “so come by soon before they sell out for a great stocking stuffer.”
Proceeds from the cookbooks will be used to support the Cherokee County Chapter of the American Red Cross and its programs.
