Meetings

n The Greater Gaffney Ministerial Fellowship has moved its regular meeting to Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Senior Center on Rutledge Avenue over lunch at 11:45 a.m., following the Advent Service there. Ministers are asked to call in their reservations for lunch to the Senior Center, 487-2725, by noon Tuesday. Cost is $3 for persons under 60. Advent Services prior to the lunch meeting begin at 11:15.

Community events

n The local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is conducting a fund drive for Christmas gifts for clients of the Cherokee County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. The goal is to raise $400, which will be supplemented by $400 from the local Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chapter through the national fraternal organization. The fund drive ends December 17. If you would like to help, make a check out to “CCDSN Board” and take or mail to 959 E. O’Neal St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
