By TARA JENNINGS

Ledger Staff Writer

A Gaffney man has been discharged from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after being doused in gasoline and set afire, according to hospital spokeswoman Betsy McMillan.

Mark Aaron Brown, 31, of 3814 Cowpens-Pacolet Highway, was flown to the Spartanburg hospital by Regional One on Sunday following the 1 a.m. assault at the man's home, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states.

Brown told police he was outside his home when two unknown individuals threw gasoline on him and attempted to burn him.

Detective Capt. Mike Fowlkes of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
