Vaudeville show in Clover offers laughs a minute

2005-01-28 / LifeStyles

CLOVER – The Clover School District Auditorium will host its sixth annual Family Night on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. The evening will feature some of the most exciting new vaudeville performers of our time.

What is vaudeville? Between 1875 and 1932, vaudeville was the most popular form of entertainment in America. Before the invention of radio, movies and television, most theatres around the country presented vaudeville shows. Vaudevillians were skilled in comedy, juggling, magic, clowning, singing, acrobatics, mime, music and dancing.

What is a vaudeville extravaganza? Join the Fettucini Brothers, Hardin Minor and a few of their madcap friends to find out.

The Fettucini Brothers – Alfredo and Aldente – blend physical and verbal comedy amidst a backdrop of juggling clubs, flaming torches, razor sharp machetes and rapid-fire comedy improvisation.

Hardin Minor interweaves juggling, illusion, dance, mime and the full force of his own imagination and energy into a visually unique performance.

Tickets are $3 for individuals or $8 for a family of three or more.

The show is sponsored in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission and the Southern Arts Federation, which receive support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
