Court Briefs
The following cases were heard during General Sessions Court by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office:
Brian Christopher Bridges pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods and unlawful possession of a weapon and was sentenced to three years in prison suspended to two years probation. Bridges was credited for time served and ordered to pay $500 to the public defenders fund.
Anthony Oneal Curry pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute drugs within a half mile of a school or playground and was sentenced to 10 years in prison suspended to three years probation.
Curry was credited for time served and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and $500 to the public defenders fund. A charge of possession with intent to distribute drugs was dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Brad Douglas pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute drugs within a half mile of a school or playground and was sentenced to 10 years in prison suspended to three years probation.
Chucky James Elmore Jr. pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods and two counts of grand larceny and was sentenced to five eyars in prison suspended to six months in jail and five years probation.
Elmore was credited for time served and ordered to pay restitution, a $1,000 fine, and $500 to the public defenders fund. A weapons charge against Elmore was dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
A charge of drug distribution against Daniel Fowler has been dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Keith Hughes pleaded guilty to two counts of non-violent 2nd-degree burglary and one count of grand larceny and was sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act for a period not to exceed five years.
He was also credited for time served and ordered to pay restitution while serving five years probation.
Demont Lee Hulsey pleaded guilty to failure to stop for a blue light and was sentenced to one year in prison suspended to one year probation with a credit for time served in jail. Hulsey was fined $500.
Keith Douglas Law pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon and was sentenced to six months in jail suspended to one month probation or a $250 fine. He also was ordered to complete seven days of public service. A charge of pointing a firearm against Law was dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Michael L. Miller pleaded guilty to drug possession and was sentenced to one year in prison suspended to time served and a $250 fine.
David William Pace pleaded guilty to failure to stop for a blue light, resisting arrest, and possession of a stolen vehicle and was sentenced to one year in prison suspended to two years probation with a credit for time served.
Pace was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $500 to the public defenders fund.
Anthony Frances Samilo pleaded guilty to drug distribution and was sentenced to two years in prison suspended to one year probation with a credit for time served.
Michael Sellars pleaded guilty to purse snatching and was sentenced to time served and one year of probation. Sellars was ordered to pay restitution.
A charge of armed robbery against Sellars was dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Brian Elzie Swindle pleaded guilty to two counts of nonviolent burglary and one count of malicious injury to property and was sentenced to five years in prison suspended to one year and four years probation. Swindle was also ordered to pay restitution and $500 to the public defenders fund.
A charge of criminal domestic violence against Mitchell Robby Weaver was dismissed by the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Shawn Neill Whiddon pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods and was sentenced to three years suspended to two years probation with a credit for time served.
Bryan Keith Wyatt pleaded guilty to seven counts of forgery and was sentenced to three years in prison suspended to 30 days and three years probation. Wyatt was ordered to pay restitution and $500 to the public defenders fund.
Scott Martin was found guilty of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Martin was sentenced to eight years suspended to six years of probation with credit for time served. He was ordered to pay $500 to the public defenders fund.
Jason Hayes Hughes pleaded guilty to assault with intent to kill.
Hayes was sentenced to eight years suspended to four years with credit for time served and five years probation.
