Limestone blood drive set for Feb. 11
Limestone College will hold a blood drive Friday, Feb, 11, in conjunction with the Piedmont Blood Center, a community blood bank that serves Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee counties. A mobile unit will be in front of Stephenson Dining Hall from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The college will hold a second blood drive April 8, sponsored by the American Red Cross. The two events have been scheduled 56 days apart to give volunteers the opportunity to participate in both drives. Limestone College nurse Sandy Greene said she hopes the college and local residents will participate in the blood drives. Donating blood doesn’t take longer than 30 minutes, and a single donation can save up to three lives. To give blood, donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in general good health.
