‘Understanding Medications’ in treatment of dementia will be discussed at meeting

Carolyn White, a pharmacist at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, will present a program on “Understanding Medications” Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. at Life Enrichment Center Adult Day Care and Health Service, 103 T.R. Harris Drive, Shelby.

The program is for anyone who is caring for an adult with dementia, caused by Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke or accident. Sometimes, dementia can be caused by drug interactions.

White will discuss the newest developments as well as side effects and interactions with other drugs and contra indications. Following the program, there will be time for asking questions or sharing concerns about caring for someone with dementia.

A free sitter service will be available for the person with dementia while caregivers attend the meeting.
