Museum fund-raiser

on tap for golfers

The Cherokee County History and Arts Museum has announced plans for a Par 3 golf tournament on Friday, March 4, at Cherokee National.

Prizes, such as cars, trips and cash will be awarded for a hole-in-one.

The proceeds will go to the capital campaign to build the county history museum.

All golfers who are interested in signing up should contact Charles Hartzog at Hartzog’s Jewelry or the pro shop at Cherokee National.

Advertisers and supporters that would like to sponsor a hole or donate prizes should call Ron Farley at 489-1623.

Saints sweep

Pfeiffer

The Limestone Saints swept a doubleheader from Pfeiffer, 12-7 and 8-2 on Saturday.

Mitch House had four hits in the opener and David Wise drove in five runs in the nightcap.

Limestone completed the series sweep with a 10-5 victory on Sunday. Drew Lovelace got the win.

Lady Saints beat

Lake Superior

The Limestone softball team swept a doubleheader from Lake Superior State Saturday.

Keisha scattered six hits to pick up the win in game one.

Limestone had 16 hits in the nightcap.

Saint heavyweight

advances to nationals

Saints heavyweight John Richard qualified for the national meet in Omaha, Neb., by placing third at the NCAA Division II East Regional.

Limestone finished ninth out of 10 teams.

Saints romp

past Mars Hill

David Wooster had five goals and three assists to lead the Limestone men’s lacrosse team to a 28-2 win over Mars Hill Saturday.

Nolan Heavenor also had five goals and two assists while Brock Spilker had four goals and an assist.
