Let’s make this project happen Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to the “rollback tax” situation that is preventing the new movie theatre complex from being built on the Webb property.

Isn’t there some way this can be worked out between the powers-that-be in the adult world so that our children can benefit from this wonderful entertainment complex?

Our kids have nowhere to go at night (after eating at one of the dozens of dining establishments). It is not right that they have to drive on I-85 to go to the movies. Not only that, but they are spending all of their money in Spartanburg.

I am a strong believer in drug prevention and I think kids in Cherokee County need parents to speak out for them to make this become a reality. Please, let’s do all we can to give our kids an entertainment outlet worthy of them. It’s long overdue.

Sincerely,

Gail H. Humphries

Dear Editor:

The Cherokee Historical and Preservation Society's Par 3 Golf Tournament held at Cherokee National Golf Club raised $6,000. The proceeds will go to the capital campaign to build a History and Arts Museum for Cherokee County.
