Confederacy and the war between the states to be discussed Tuesday

Please plan to attend the Cherokee County Public Library on Tuesday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. as Dr. John Griffin discusses the Confederacy and the War Between the States.

His latest book, A Pictorial History of the Confederacy, will be on sale, and Dr. Griffin will be available to autograph copies. This book, along with its extensive text, contains nearly 500 rarely seen photos of Confederate leaders, soldiers, flags and battle maps. This work is possibly the most comprehensive pictorial history of the Confederacy ever compiled.

Dr. Griffin, who has authored 13 books, holds the honorary title Distinguished Professor Emeritus with the University of South Carolina. Several years ago Gov. Jim Hodges named him to the Order of the Silver Crescent, the state's highest award.
