Man threatens officers

A Gaffney man threatened to kill a police officer as he was being apprehended early Monday morning, according to authorities.

Gaffney Police Department Officer Johnny Miller has charged Enoch Nelson Bonner Jr., 33, of 600 Hetty Hill St., Gaffney, with public disorderly conduct and threatening the life of a public official, according to a warrant and report at the Gaffney Police Department.

Bonner remains jailed.

Miller said he observed Bonner pushing a bike on Short Peeler Street near Peeler Street at 2:54 a.m. Monday, the report states. The officer was getting out of his patrol car when Bonner began yelling and swearing at Miller, police said.

The report states that when Bonner was placed in handcuffs, he told Miller he would kill the officer when he got out of jail. According to the officer, Bonner repeated the threat multiple times.
