Pageant winner

Precious Phillips Precious-Samya Mahalia Phillips won the American Cover Girl and Boy state finalist pageant held April 22-24 in Charlotte.

She won Most Beautiful Overall for ages 0-21 months old and received awards in five different categories, including Western Wear (50s wear), Best Smith, Best Personality, Best Hair and Most Photogenic. She received a $5,000 savings bond.

Precious is the daughter of Evalata Brewton and Samuelle Phillips Sr. She will be competing in the national pageant on July 1-3 in Atlanta, Ga.
