Daisy (Dickie) Wood Sarratt, 78, of 109 Laurel St., widow of Samuel Shaw Sarratt, died Monday, June 27, 2005, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born on Sept. 4, 1926, to the late Thomas Clingman Wood Sr. and Maggie Garrison Wood, Mrs. Sarratt graduated from Gaffney High School. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Gaffney.

Survivors include her daughter, C. Ann Richardson of Gaffney; two sons, Randy Sarratt of Florida and Gregory Wood Sarratt of Gaffney; a stepson, Samuel C. Sarratt of Greenville; two grandchildren, Donna H. Moore of Gaffney and Jessica P. Sarratt of Chesnee; three great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Janell Sarratt of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sarratt was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jane Sarratt.

Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Mr. Ashby Blakely, and the Revs. Roy Mathis and Joel Sellers. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of First Baptist Church from 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
