Julia B. Parker
York County native
BLACKSBURG – Julia Byars Parker, 86, formerly of 102 W. Lime St., died Monday, June 27, 2005, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of York County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dora Macafee Childers. She attended Kings Creek Church of God.
Surviving are three sons, Leon Byars of Blacksburg, Vicky Joe Byars and Lewis Byars, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Sandra Byars Tomlin of Boiling Springs and Jackie Byars Robbins of Blacksburg; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Batchler, and a son, Bennie Byars.
Graveside services will be held today at 5 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Rayce Wolgemuth.
The family will receive friends today from 4-4:45 p.m. at White Columns prior to the graveside services.
The family is at the Robbins home, 1544 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, and at their respective homes.
