We would like to get a large number of these veterans as with our World War II veterans, they are leaving us daily.
The deadline for submission of names for this year will be Labor Day (Sept. 5). Support this project of the staff of Dr. Quincie Moore, principal, Gaffney High School and David Smith, Social Studies Department Chair and his assistants, Gary Bordogna and Mark Ireton and their quality students.
The following are deceased Korean Conflict veterans whose family members or friends of the families will provide necessary data for the students:
Bobby Joe Millwood (data to be provided by Dennis Vess and Jack Millwood).
Milford D. Sarratt (data to be provided by Donalen S. Lemmons).
As in the past, Rep. Olin R. Phillips will provide certificates of appreciation to each veteran interviewed and also the traditional Blue Star Banners to families who have two or more siblings who served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Larkin and Nicey Cobb (deceased) of Blacksburg had two siblings who served during the Korean Conflict. They were: Jimmie Cobb and Ralph Cobb (both deceased). Family members to receive the Blue Star Banner will be Mrs. Artie Cobb Trull, 114 Lower Deal St., Blacksburg.
