LETTER

What’s the Municipal Association going to say on judgment day? Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to an article published June 29. It was about a woman in Great Falls who fought over prayer and she plans to stay.

I am very angry and sad when I read that the S.C. Municipal Association told its members not to mention the name of Jesus in their prayers. My comments to them are, if you are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of you when you stand before His Father (God). We all must stand before God on that final day and be judged by Him. Everyone will have to give an account for the deeds we have done in our lifetime ... court judges, high or low, are not excluded. All that we have standing in for us to plead our cause will be the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am appalled at our Legislature standing by when our high court judges take away our Christian rights one by one because one person does not like or believe the same way.

The woman in Great Falls has the right to her religion and her freedom of speech. No one was trying to take that away from her ... but don’t take away Mr. Broom’s or millions of other’s rights.

I would like to know what happened to the rights of those of us who choose to worship Jesus, the Son of God. This is the same religion as our forefathers fought so diligently to protect and to preserve. Christianity was the same religion this great country was founded upon.

Apparently our courts have no problem protecting the rights of anti-Christ movements.

They take away our freedom of speech simply if anyone objects to a word spoken if it’s not what that person likes and pays the court expenses out of the tax dollars that could be used for more beneficial things for all of the people.

Our government seems to have forgotten the numerous times they have cried out to God when our country is in a crisis. He has heard and healed our land and kept us free. When 911 happened it was not uncommon for our government to publicly cry out to God. Rest assured, as surely as 911 happened, terror will strike again. Whether it will be manmade or a disaster by nature, one thing for certain is it will happen.

Who then will we call upon for solace if we are not allowed to call upon the most powerful name above all other names, Jesus Christ, the Son of the almighty God; the creator of life and the conqueror of death? We must choose — the other gods or perhaps Wicca? I choose not to or will my freedom of choice be taken away because of a disgruntled woman who does not like my choice.

We, as Christians and as a nation, better awaken from our compromising with every kind of doctrine and turn back to the true and living God before it’s everlasting too late. I am as sure as I am breathing that Jesus Christ is coming back soon. I want to be with Him. I freely choose Him to be my advocate when I must stand before God the Father.

I have written this in the name of Jesus and by the leadership of the Holy Spirit. To God be the glory forever.
